Suited Connectors and Unsuited Connectors
The lower suited connectors and unsuited connectors
should only be played in late position, to safeguard against
getting raised and reraised before the flop.
The suited hands are more powerful because
of their added flush potential, but I would be cautious about
overplaying any flush made with these as other players could
be playing Axs, Kxs etc.
( Note, because of the community cards in
texas holdem it is less likely for flushes to hit when more
than one player is drawing to it, so in most situations any
flush is usually good in holdem, but not always.)
With all these connectors I am looking to
make a four flush, open ended straight draw, full house, trips
or 2 pair on the flop, if I don't hit any of these, I fold.
Again the power of these hands lies in their
deception value and the probability that players in earlier
position are playing premium style hands and have therefore
missed the flop. When I bet out they may assume that I am
playing A or K high for value and call.
They may try to semi-bluff by betting out with A or K high
and try to outdraw me or they could be playing Axs etc. and
have paired their kicker card.
